Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Club

CSSC 2022 Summer

Season:

May 2rd to August 7th 2021 at the Rotary Outdoor Pool rain or shine and August 21st if the swimmer qualifies for the Kamloops 2022 Provincial Championships.

BCSSA Insurance Fee

All swimmers who join our Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Team must pay an additional $35 per swimmer once a year. This cost covers the swimmer’s insurance from May 2022 to May 2023.

Competitive Swim Fee

If you would like your Jr. Pup to swim competitively at swim meets, please pay the yearly $60 Competitive Swim Fee. The Chilliwack Stingrays is a competitive Swim Club, and all Pups Intermediate and advanced groups fee is included in the price.

Jr Pups – ages 3+ (Must be potty trained)

Jr Pups are sets of 25 minutes sessions, for ages 3 to 6 and is for our beginner swimmers that are unable to swim 25m unassisted. These sessions run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, at the Rotary Outdoor Pool. Swimmers must be potty trained!

If you would like your Jr Pup to swim competitively at swim meets, please pay the yearly $60 Competitive Swim Fee.

3 days a week: M/W/F 430pm -5:00pm

June 1- June 10th – 5 practices. June 13th- June24th – 6 practices

June 27th- July 8th – 5 practices

July 11th- 22nd – 6 practices

July 25th- August 5th- 5 practices

Pups- ages 4-10 (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)

3 days a week: M/W/F 5pm to 6pm

($260 includes Competitive Fee)

Intermediate Stingrays- ages 5-12 (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)

5 days a week: M/T/W/TH/F 5:45pm to 7pm (Includes 15 minutes dry-land training) ($360 Includes Competitive Fee)

Advanced Stingrays- ages 10+ (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)

5 days a week: M/T/W/TH/F

May- 6:45 to 8pm (Includes 15 minutes dry-land training)

June- 6:45 to 8:30pm (Includes 15 minutes dry-land training)

July & August T/Th/Fri 6:15 to 8:30am and 6:45 to 9pm M/W (Includes 15 minutes dry-land training)

Chilliwack Stingrays Summer Swim Club is looking for their 2022 competitive summer swimming program coaching staff! Applications for head coach, assistant head coach and support coaches are now being accepted. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals, passionate about both swimming and coaching, who want to enable and share in the success of their swimmers.

Our club has approximately 60 swimmers of all ages, experience and skill levels and is a member of Fraser Valley region within the BCSSA. Job applicants must be able to commit to all practices and swim meets for the full summer season, May 1 to mid-August with some planning work ahead of May 1 for senior coaching staff.

Responsibilities and expectations for the role:

• Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a fun, competitive summer swimming training program for the team, including a dryland component.
• Developing and tracking detailed, individualized goals for swimmers with monitoring and reporting on progress towards those goals.
• Organization and participation in team social events and team-building activities.
• Developing and executing and communications plan that supports swimmers, parents and the overall operations of the Club.
• Early morning, late afternoon and weekend shifts

Qualifications:

• Superior leadership, organizational and communications skills
• A sense of fun, enthusiasm for coaching and the sport
• Previous experience coaching
• NL, First Aid, CPR required for all coaches
WSI and NCCP 1 required for head coach
• Valid drivers license
• Current criminal record check, completed before the contract is signed

Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Club
CSSC 2022 Winter/Spring

BCSSA Insurance
All swimmers who join our Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Team must pay an additional $35

Vaccination Policy
All adults swimming in our Master’s Program or Jr. Pups & Parent MUST be double
vaccinated. Please come to practice with your proof of Vaccination and BC ID, or you
will not be able to attend.

Holidays:
1st week of Spring Break- NO SWIMMING March 20th, 22nd, and 24th.
Easter- NO SWIMMING April 17th

HOT TUB Reminder:
The Chilliwack Stingrays rent lanes at the recreation centres and do not have the right
to use the Hot Tubs. Therefore, all swimmers must refrain from using the hot tubs to
continue a respectful relationship with our facility providers.

Groups:

Pups- ages 4-8 (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)
Sundays 830am-930am at the Cheam Centre
Tuesdays and Thursdays 630pm-730pm at the Landing Leisure Centre.

Intermediate Stingrays- ages 6-12 (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)
Sundays 730am-830am at the Cheam Centre
Tuesdays and Thursdays 630pm-730pm at the Landing Leisure Centre.

Advanced Stingrays- ages 10+ (Must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.)
Sundays 730am-830am at the Cheam Centre
Tuesdays and Thursdays 730pm-830pm at the Landing Leisure Centre.

Masters- ages18+ MUST be double Vaccinated.
Sundays 730am-830am at the Cheam Centre

Jr Pups and Parent- ages 3+(Must be potty trained) Parent MUST be double

Jr Pups and Parent are sets of 25 minutes sessions for ages 3 to 6 and are for our
beginner swimmers who cannot swim 25m unassisted. Parents get in the water and
help their children due to Covid Restrictions. These sessions run Sundays at the Cheam
Centre. Swimmers must be potty trained!

Sundays at the Cheam Pool: 8 am, 9:30 am & 10 am

6 Sessions: January 9th- February 13th & February 20th- April 3rd
We will be adhering to the covid protocols put in place by Rec-Excellence.

Stingray Jr. Pups

is 30 minutes practices, every 2 weeks for ages 3 to 6 and is for beginners unable to swim 25m. Swimmers must be potty trained! $55-$65 per sessions, plus $35 for 1 years insurance.

Summer 2020 Jr Pup Schedule half hour practice on the following dates:

Session 1: 5 practices- $55 May 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th, 29th
Session 2: 6 practices- $65 June 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th
Session 3: 6 practices- $65 June 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th
Session 4: 5 practices- $55 June 29th, July 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th
Session 5: 6 practices- $65 June 13th, 15th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 27th, 29th, 31st

Stingray Pups

is for ages 4 thru 9. Swimmer must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted is 3, 1 hour practices a week and includes all swim meets and insurance for the year. $435

Intermediate Stingrays

for swimmers ages 7- 12 and is 5, 1 hour practices a week and includes all swim meets and insurance for the year. $545

Senior Stingrays

is for ages 12 and up and is 5, 1 hour practices a week and includes all swim meets and insurance for the year. $545

Masters

$110.00 plus $35 for 1 years insurance

Expected Volunteer/ Fundraising or Buyout

Fund Raising 2 items for our two silent auction that equal $75.00 and sell 10 tickets for our Pub Night.
100 volunteer points

Practice Times

The city of Chilliwack is investing in the Rotary Outdoor Pool and is having work done on the pool in May. The work is weather dependent, there for we have a back up schedule for the Landing and Cheam Pools. Please follow along on Facebook for updates.

There are just a few details that need attention before we can get your swimmer(s) in the water.

• There are no refunds after the first two weeks of swimming. Extenuating
circumstances will be considered upon formal written request submitted to
the board.

• Fundraising/Parent Points Fee-There is a fundraising fee of $175 and a Parent
Point fee of $100. This is to be paid by post dated (July 15) cheques and can be worked off
throughout the season. This is due the first day of swimming. Details of both will be emailed
out.

• Swimmers are not allowed in the water unless payments are received.
